THE JUDICIAL BOARD

The Judicial Board is a branch unique to this campus and is responsible to review all legislative and executive SGA action. Nominated by the President and confirmed by two-thirds of the Senate, the Judicial Board is made up of two Associate Justices, with one Chief Justice. Once appointed, justices hold office indefinitely until graduation or resignation.

A critical part of the SGA process, the Judicial Board ensures all actions taken align with the governing documents. After legislation is passed by the Senate, action is taken by committees, or the executive cabinet moves, the Judicial Board meets to prohibit or allow the legislation or behavior. Additionally, the Justices can also participate in the Behavioral Review Board of ACU, which oversees appeals to disciplinary action for ACU students. Students on the Judicial Board play a vital role to ensure the accountability and legitimacy of any SGA action.
